How to Clean Acrylic Shower Tray and Acrylic Bathtubs

An Acrylic bathtub or shower becomes dirty over time. Soap scum, dirt and grime accumulates on the surface, making cleaning a necessity. Acrylic showers and bathtubs do not have pores for dirt to get down into, making cleaning easy and hassle free. You can clean acrylic showers and bathtubs quickly with common household products.

Wet down the shower or bathtub with plain water. Squirt a generous amount of bleach-free liquid dish soap into the tub or shower.

Spread the soap all over the tub or shower with a soft cloth. Rub in a circular motion when spreading the soap, and cover the entire acrylic surface.

Allow the soap to remain on the surface for 15 minutes. Scrub the interior of the tub with a rag to remove any dirt, soap scum or grime.

Rinse the tub or shower with plain water. Remove all traces of the soap from the surface.

Fill an empty spray bottle with household ammonia or equal parts white vinegar and water. Either product will suffice for sanitizing and deep cleaning acrylic bathtubs and showers.

Spray a moderate amount of the cleaning solution onto the acrylic. If there are stained or troubled areas, spray a heavy coating of the cleaning solution onto those areas.

Let the cleaning solution sit on the acrylic for 5 minutes. Wipe down the tub or shower with a clean, soft rag. Rinse well with plain water.

Go over the shower or tub with a dry rag. Apply more cleaning solution, if necessary, to clean any lingering spots.
